Young and old working together to tackle social and economic issues

Together in the 2020s Report

United for all ages is a ‘think and do tank’ aiming to bring younger and older people together and tackle Britain’s social and economic problems.  They work with partners such as councils, charities, universities and companies to achieve real change.

Their report ‘Together in the 2020s’ gives 20 ideas for creating a Britain for all ages by 2030.

It explains why we need a Britain for all ages, highlighting key statistics on wealth, housing, loneliness and ageism.  See the links for the appropriate drives in Youdrivehealth.

It also sets out some suggested actions and also recommends some social and economic policies that could tackle issues of loneliness, ageism and housing / living.  It then recommends changes that could be made in communities and social networks.

YouDrive thinks:

We really like the objectives of this organisation as set out in this report. Anything that aims to tackle these important social and economic issues has to be good news, and given the demographics of an ageing society bringing young and old together has to be important.
