Find Out About Universal Credits
What is Universal Credit?
This is a payment to help with living costs, which you get if you’re on low income or out of work. This support asks you 11 questions and gives you advice and tips.
It’s payable monthly (2x a month in Scotland) and replaces:
- Child Tax Credit
- Housing Benefit
- Income Support
- income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA)
- income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
- Working Tax Credit
So you can’t claim any of these and Universal Credit.
You need to be 18 or over and under Pension Credit qualifying age and (with your partner) have less than £16,000 in savings between you.
