Does Taking Vitamins Just Give Us Expensive Pee?

vitamins lead to expensive pee

I don’t know about you, but I like to know what I am sticking in my mouth, and what it does to my precious system.

Do you look at tablets and think – what’s in here? Where was it made? Manufactured products which don’t give all the details or source of origin are a worry.

In 2018 people in the the UK spent a staggering £442 million on vitamins– did they know if they really needed them? According to Mintel research vitamin D overtook the previous best seller vitamin C.

Did you know nearly 100% of synthetic vitamin C sold in the UK comes from CHINA?

On average if we spend 12 minutes in the sunshine a day, we get enough vitamin D. If there isn’t enough sun but we eat salmon or tuna, eggs, mushrooms and shrimp then we get enough vitamin D. So why waste money on expensive vitamin tablets when we don’t really even know if we want them?

A pharmacist once said taking vitamins without having had a blood test to see if your deficient in anything will only produce very expensive pee.
33% of the UK population take multivitamins.

The culture of instant coffee means we are even too lazy to cook and prepare healthy food, preferring to pop a pill!

It seems in this fast-moving world we live in that people would prefer to pop a pill for convenience rather that eat fresh commodity.

How many of us could eat in a day the following;
12 grapes, 20 blueberries, 5 strawberries, 1 apple, pear, banana, orange.

Not many I bet. But you can – it’s easy, it takes 2 minutes to do. Blend it all with a hand blender and drink it during the morning at work. That combination of fruit contains enough for an average healthy person. Do it 3 times a week and you won’t need a tablet.

Some people do need to have extra vitamins and minerals but again we can get all the vitamins and minerals we need from natural sources; we just need to educate ourselves.

The NHS actually say that many multivitamins and supplements are a waste of money.

So, what’s really in the vitamins we eat, do we really know?

Well, firstly your final product the tablet has been through many processes to get to your bottle. So, do the intensive processing and additives and stabilisers needed really defeat the object?

When a vitamin is marked “natural”, it only has to include 10% of actual natural plant-derived ingredients. The other 90% could be synthetic.

Vitamin C is in most instances 100% synthetic and it comes from CHINA, yes the country which also gave us Covid-19 and SARs.

Finally: the majority of vitamins and supplements are made in the US, but the raw commodity comes from guess where?

Yes you knew – CHINA.

So how do we know what we are deficient on?

Go and talk to your pharmacist or GP first before taking vitamins. If you want to do a test you can pay for a nutritional test.

Newsweek have an article saying the same thing.

In conclusion:

Don’t take synthetic vitamins – they are chemically produced, over processed and chemicals are added to ensure the end product is stable and suitable for bagging and bottling.

The majority of us do not need any supplements.

If you have a well-balanced diet and do normal exercise you don’t need anything.

If your lacking in something or unsure don’t guess, go ask a pharmacist.

Buy organic at least you know it met tighter controls.

Get a blood test and see what that says.

Don’t end up with just expensive pee serving no purpose whatsoever!

YouDrive thinks…

It does appear we can get all the vitamins we need from natural sources – medical cases excepted.
